Piling Rig Operator Job Role

The key duties of the Piling Rig Operator include operating a piling rig in compliance with manufacturer specifications and site civil engineers' directives. This role necessitates excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of workplace health and safety procedures, and proficiency in English.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate piling rig safely and effectively, including implementing fall protection measures for open piles.
  • Disassemble, relocate, and reassemble the piling rig and accessory equipment.
  • Collaborate with driller offsiders to eliminate operational risks.
  • Perform minor maintenance and repairs, including cleaning and lubrication of the piling rig.
  • Document rig performance and maintain operator's log books.
  • Construct foundation piles, bored piles, CFA piles, shoring piles, soldier, contiguous, and secant pile walls, sheet piling, and screw piling (including pile casing installation and reo installation).
  • Monitor the operation of the piling rig and ensure the safety of site workers during drilling operations.
  • Coordinate with company diesel mechanics to ensure effective piling rig maintenance.
  • Operate auxiliary plant such as pumps to expel water and mud.

Requirements:

  • AQF Certificate II or III, or at least one year of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in piling rig operations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.

Key Performance Indicators:

Success in this role will be measured by the operator's ability to operate the piling rig safely and efficiently, while maintaining a safe working environment and achieving project objectives.
