We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist to join our team in the Children's Critical Care Unit at Gold Coast Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide clinical support and specialist care to critically ill children, working collaboratively with other departments to ensure the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical support and specialist care to critically ill children in the Children's Critical Care Unit.
- Work collaboratively with other departments, including Intensive Care, Neonatal Intensive Care, Paediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetics, and Surgery, to ensure seamless care.
- Promote and maintain a high standard of clinical service provision across the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service.
- Participate in an after-hours and on-call roster for the Children's Critical Care Unit.
- Evidence of vaccination against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, Hepatitis B, and Tuberculosis screening.
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.
- MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) in one of the following areas:
- Intensive Care Medicine - FCICM or equivalent acceptable to the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand.
- Anaesthetics - FANZCA or equivalent acceptable to the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.
- Emergency Medicine - FACEM or equivalent acceptable to the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.
- Paediatrics - FRACP or equivalent acceptable to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
- Appropriate training/fellowship within a Paediatric Intensive Care setting.
- Significant paediatric experience in training and clinical practice of the management of critically ill patients, including advanced airway management, ventilation strategies, vascular access techniques, and management of vasoactive agents.
- Internationally trained candidates may require an acceptable Comparability Assessment undertaken by the appropriate Australian Specialist Medical College as part of the application process.
- Relevant qualification/s and registration must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
- Strong clinical and teaching experience in Intensive Care.
- Temporary full time.
- Estimated total remuneration up to $498,017 p.a., comprising:
- Senior Staff Specialist: Base salary from $251,527 - $266,677 p.a.
- Staff Specialist: Base salary from $210,332 - $244,313 p.a.
- Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution.
