Senior Legal Counsel: Key to Success in APAC Region
This role is a high-profile position within the Bechtel Infrastructure team, supporting key business lines across the APAC region.
About the RoleThe Senior Legal Counsel will work closely with GBU Business Development and Management to structure, prepare, negotiate, and conclude transactions for prospects and projects in the Asia Pacific Region.
The role involves providing leadership on legal and commercial issues relating to prospects and projects, advising GBU Management and project personnel on legal matters during execution, and ensuring compliance with internal protocols and procedures.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide expert guidance on legal and commercial issues associated with prospects and projects in the APAC Region.
- Collaborate with GBU Business Development and Management to develop strategies for structuring and concluding transactions.
- Advise GBU Management and project personnel on complex legal issues and ensure compliance with company policies.
A minimum of 8 years' post-qualification experience in engineering and construction projects, related contract documents, and significant exposure to complex legal analysis and negotiation.
Must hold a current legal practicing certificate from an Australian jurisdiction.
Key Skills and Qualities:- Expert technical knowledge of engineering and construction law, including contract documents.
- Proven ability to provide strategic guidance on complex legal issues.
- Excellent negotiation and drafting skills.
- Strong business acumen and ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
