The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Analyst to join our Commercial Finance team in Richmond. The purpose of this role is to support the Wholesale business in achieving targets and driving performance. You will contribute commercial and financial insights and solutions to support business planning, decision making, and operational and financial performance improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review cost, margin, and profitability benchmarks with General Managers.
  • Build budgets, including the review and modification of budget templates, and forecasting.
  • Provide timely tracking of sales, capital expenditures, and expenses to budget holders.
  • Manage profit and loss statements and relevant balance sheet items.
  • Prepare data to show variations to budgets and forecasts, and provide commentary on variances for reports.
  • Assist with quarterly forecasting and conduct feasibility analysis to provide accurate and timely insights.
  • Determine and recommend options or opportunities to drive efficiency, sales, cost savings, or margin enhancement.
  • Develop formal business cases as required.
  • Provide visibility to divisional, channel, and category performance to maximize sales performance, profitability, and identify opportunities.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a management accountant or analytical capacity in a multi-branded retailer or similar fast-paced environment.
  • Degree in Business, CA, or CPA qualified (or other financially oriented discipline).
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, V-lookups, and Charts.
  • Experience using business intelligence software and tools.
  • AP21 experience is highly regarded.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence at various levels of the business.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
