Natural Areas Officer Bushcare- Part-Time Position

The Natural Areas Team has a 12-month part-time term contract opportunity for a Natural Areas Officer-Bushcare. This role will involve coordinating Bushcare volunteer activities and community education related to natural resource management, bush regeneration, and ecological community protection within the Parramatta Local Government area.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and resource the volunteer Bushcare program, including recruitment through marketing, media opportunities, and National Tree Day Events.
- Develop Action Work Plans for Bushcare Groups and review/update as needed.
- Design, conduct, and manage environmental education programs, events, workshops, and related resource materials focusing on natural areas management.
- Produce regular informative and educational materials to promote and share with Bushcare volunteers and the wider community.
- Prepare applications, project manage, and administer grants as required.
- Coordinate procurement activities associated with the delivery of Bushcare and related programs.
We are seeking an individual with:
- A degree qualification in Environmental Science or a related field.
- A NSW Class 'C' Drivers License.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising volunteers, natural resource management, and bush regeneration activities.
- Demonstrated innovative and creative approach to developing and implementing volunteer programs.
- A sound understanding of key environmental legislation.
- Ability to liaise with diverse community groups and volunteers to provide education on relevant natural resource issues and projects.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to research and investigate matters in a methodical manner and convey information to others.
- Ability to manage personal work priorities and professional development with minimal supervision.
This 12-month part-time term contract opportunity offers an attractive remuneration package (pro-rata) from $101,563 to $111,820, plus 11.5% superannuation.
