Job Description:

The successful Transportation Infrastructure Communication Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies to support major transportation projects. This role involves managing all aspects of media relations, stakeholder engagement, and crisis communication to ensure effective communication and positive relationships.

As a key member of the project management team, this professional will play a vital role in shaping public opinion and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, businesses, advocacy groups, and other interested parties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement communication strategies and plans aligned with the objectives of transport infrastructure projects.
  • Identify key stakeholders and develop tailored communication approaches to effectively engage with each group.
  • Build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring open lines of communication.
  • Manage all aspects of media relations, responding promptly and professionally to media inquiries and resolving sensitive issues.
  • Develop crisis communication plans and protocols to effectively manage communication during emergencies or unexpected events related to transportation projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Urban Planning, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in communications, public relations, or stakeholder engagement roles, preferably within the transportation or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience managing crisis communication situations and responding effectively to sensitive issues or controversies.
