This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled tradesperson to work on Defence equipment.

The job involves cleaning, repairing and maintaining specialist Defence equipment. This includes weapon maintenance, installation, inspection, repair, modification and reconditioning of military armaments, watercraft, and small engines.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Examine detailed specifications to determine requirements of the job
  • Operate machines to produce or modify required parts or tools
  • Fitting and assembling parts
  • Providing technical advice to equipment operators
  • Conducting data entry tasks
  • Participating in safety development programs
  • Responsible for conducting various weapon maintenance tasks, varying from installation and repair through to the reconditioning of military armaments

**Essential Qualifications and Experience**

  • Trade qualified fitter and turner (Cert III)
  • Armourer experience and/or qualifications
  • Small engines qualification or experience (desired)
  • Experience operating lathes, millers, and other metal working machines
  • Proven experience with Oxy/Acet, Arc, MIG, TIG welding and metal fabrication processes
