Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist

The position of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist involves delivering high-quality teaching, leading curriculum development and review, and applying innovative practices to enhance the learning experience. This specialist will be responsible for providing expert knowledge in child and adolescent mental health assessment and treatment.

To be successful, candidates must have a PhD in Psychology and eligibility for registration as a psychologist with AHPRA. They must also have experience in the practice, teaching, and supervision of child and adolescent psychological assessment.

In addition, candidates must demonstrate a commitment to excellence and innovation in tertiary-level teaching and learning, as well as a strong understanding of the strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement curricula for psychology courses, particularly those related to child and adolescent mental health
  • Provide expert teaching and mentoring to students, including lectures, tutorials, and practical classes
  • Conduct research and publish scholarly articles on child and adolescent mental health topics
  • Mentor and supervise honours and postgraduate students

Requirements:

  • PhD in Psychology or a related field
  • Eligibility for registration as a psychologist with AHPRA
  • Experience in teaching and supervising students in child and adolescent mental health assessment
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence and innovation in tertiary-level teaching and learning
