Early Years Education Specialist

The Department for Education is committed to delivering an exceptional education experience for every child and young person. The Early Years Education Specialist will provide state-wide leadership in research, education design, and program evaluation to enhance teaching and learning in early years settings. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing innovative early years practices and programs that drive student outcomes.
  • Managing projects aimed at improving early years education through targeted interventions and evidence-based best practices.
  • Promoting effective educational strategies and tools to support leaders in achieving excellence.
  • Conducting in-depth research on pedagogical developments and trends to inform policy decisions.
  • Collaborating with the Curriculum and Learning Division to ensure effective implementation of policies and addressing the needs of Aboriginal learners.

This role requires a deep understanding of relevant frameworks and regulations to achieve critical policy outcomes and improve early years education across the state.

Applicants must be registered to teach in South Australia or eligible for registration. If not employed by the department, applicants must meet the minimum employment requirements prior to appointment.

The successful applicant is required to obtain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check prior to employment, which must be renewed every five years before expiry.
