Graphic Design Specialist Opportunity

The role of the Graphic Design Specialist involves delivering high-quality graphic design support to key business projects, including flagship publications, infographics, newsletters, corporate documents and intelligence products.

The successful candidate will work closely with team members in a small team responsible for creating and developing design concepts, providing branding advice, maintaining templates, providing photography and multimedia services, and managing merchandise, print and typesetting procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uses highly creative conceptual and design skills to deliver high-quality graphic design support.
  • Maintains and applies a comprehensive understanding of the latest design and multimedia trends and their role in the Australian Public Service environment.
  • Has strong organisational skills including the ability to manage projects with overlapping deadlines, manage own work with minimal supervision, and provide support to the wider design team.
  • Has outstanding communication and client liaison skills, including conducting briefings, advising on design implications, and negotiating with clients.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in graphic design or a related field.
  • Experience working with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
  • Photography experience.
