About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Communications Technician to join our team at Workforce Australia for Individuals. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our communication systems, ensuring seamless connectivity and data transmission across our network.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Implement minor software/hardware/graphic interface changes as directed in accordance with site operating procedures, tools and methodologies.
  2. Assist with commissioning and start-up of new installations, ensuring timely and efficient deployment of new systems.
  3. Provide support to continuous improvement projects within the Mining Department, driving innovation and process enhancements.
  4. Assist in the development of operational and functional procedures related to systems, ensuring compliance and best practices.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  1. 2+ years relevant experience in the mining industry, with a strong background in underground communications.
  2. Experience with mining communication hardware and software applications, including but not limited to Motorola VHF Digital Radio Systems, UG Leaky Feeder, Sandvik Automine, Personnel and Equipment Tracking and Proximity Systems, PLC Programming, SM and MM Fiber Optic Installation, Splicing, Commissioning and Fault Finding, CITECT SCADA Telemetry, Wireless and Fixed Network Infrastructure.
Qualifications

You will need:

  1. Cert III in Electronics and Communications or equivalent.
  2. Restricted Electrical Licence and Registered Cabler License (endorsed Co-axial, Fibre and structured cabling) will be highly regarded. We will provide training if not already licensed.
  3. Current 'C' Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.
