Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned finance professional to lead our group accounting team. As the key stakeholder in this role, you will be responsible for overseeing core accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial processes, and driving continuous improvement through strategic technology adoption.

  • Lead and optimize the month-end close process for all group entities, ensuring timely completion of financial statements and reports.
  • Drive efficiencies and continuous improvement across all group accounting functions by leveraging automation and AI solutions.
  • Provide strong leadership to a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, development, and performance.
  • Act as the lead for cross-functional projects impacting the accounting function, collaborating effectively with other departments to achieve shared objectives.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable operations, ensuring efficient processing and accurate recording of payments.
  • Influence key stakeholders across the business on accounting policies and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of general ledger accounts and financial data.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.

Success Metrics:

  • Month-end close processes are consistently completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Significant improvements in accounting efficiency and accuracy are achieved through technology adoption.
  • A highly engaged, skilled, and high-performing group accounting team is fostered.
  • Cross-functional projects are successfully led and influenced.
  • Accounts Payable operations are streamlined and effectively managed.
Requirements
  • Critical Competencies:
  • Ability to work at speed and urgency, demonstrating a proactive approach to meeting deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with a proven ability to influence.
  • Significant experience in senior finance or accounting roles, with extensive experience in group accounting and month-end close processes.
  • Proven experience in driving efficiency improvements through technology adoption and process automation.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Appropriate qualification, such as Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent.
