
Chief Electrical Systems Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead our team in delivering a major capital works program. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of electrical systems and experience in the design, construction, or management of large scale industrial or energy infrastructure.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Australia's move to renewables. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders to assess and balance technical, commercial and operational risks. Your expertise should include HV switchgear, transformers, alternators, and other electricity generation related equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of providing technical leadership, managing engineering risk, and delivering high quality outcomes across complex projects. You will be confident in engineering reviews and decision making, and also a collaborative team player who values continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Review and make recommendations for final engineering sign-off on concept designs, detailed drawings, reports, and project proposals.
- Offer engineering advice to resolve complex project challenges, ensuring solutions are technically sound and aligned with operational requirements.
- Develop and assess technical solutions to asset issues, supporting safe and timely commissioning of new or refurbished equipment.
- Mentor and support junior and graduate engineers, contributing to team capability and professional development.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to assess and balance technical, commercial and operational risks.

About the Ideal Candidate:
