The role of a data scientist involves contributing to organisational priorities and informing decision-making through the development and implementation of analytical techniques.

As a specialist resource, you will transform raw data into meaningful information for business areas using data-oriented programming languages and visualisation software.

You will develop and implement techniques or analytic applications to provide insights into emerging risks and trends, and support evidence-based decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications and Experience
  • Mandatory:
    • A recognised tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline from an Australian tertiary institution or a comparable overseas institution.
    • Experience and knowledge in using R and/or Python for developing data science solutions.
    • Experience in using SQL to extract, transform and analyse data from databases.
  • Experience using Databricks for undertaking exploratory analysis and machine learning model development.
Eligibility and Specific Conditions of Employment
  • Character clearance.
  • Employee Health Declaration.
  • Six months probationary period for new engagements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
