Physiotherapist Role in Aged Care

About the Role
VMCH is seeking a Physiotherapist to provide allied health support to clients within the Hume Region of Victoria. The successful candidate will be based in Wangaratta or Shepparton and travel around the region as required.
The Physiotherapist will adopt an approach to working with clients that is goal-oriented and focused on wellness, reablement, and capacity building. This involves working with clients and their support networks to maximise their independence and quality of life.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Providing high-quality and person-centred Physio services, including assessment and development of comprehensive goal-oriented treatment and care plans, home assessment, equipment prescription, and report writing.
- Completing thorough functional assessments, including identification of appropriate accommodation settings or complex home modifications required for clients to live in a safe and supportive environment.
- Demonstrating a range of intervention and therapy strategies to address needs that relate to activities of daily living, functional performance, fine motor skills, motor planning, sensory processing, perceptual motor handling, and positive behaviour support.
- Providing therapy supports in the clients' chosen environment, including their homes and/or specialist accommodation.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a recent Physiotherapist graduate who is looking to kick-start their career within the Allied Health space.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and/or Physiotherapy with current AHPRA registration.
- Sound theoretical and demonstrated knowledge of a broad range of complex conditions that may impact people with a disability, the aged, and their carers.
- Knowledge and skill in the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic plans and services for the elderly.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as working independently, including office-based or remote off-site locations.
- A current Victorian driver's license.
- Evidence of 2022/2023 Flu Vaccination and COVID-19 Vaccination.
