About the Role

The **Civil Asset Inspector** plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and integrity of V/Line's rail infrastructure. This position involves conducting regular inspections of bridges, culverts, platforms, and tunnels to identify any maintenance needs and report on their condition.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of structural assets and be able to write detailed reports on inspections. They will also be able to advise management on civil asset maintenance and ensure that inspections follow the Technical Maintenance Plan (TMP).

This is a **Tuesday to Friday** schedule, based out of the Ballarat depot, with occasional travel to various job sites across Victoria. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on safety and quality.

About You

We are seeking an experienced and qualified **Structures Maintenance Specialist** who has a strong safety focus and a technical understanding of structural assets. The ideal candidate will have a Certificate 3 in Rail Infrastructure and a current Victorian Driver's License.

Other requirements include:

  • Bridge Inspector Level 1 or 2 certification
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a trade certificate is highly regarded
  • Ability to travel and work away from home regularly, with overtime, different shifts, and call outs when required
