Job Responsibilities

As an Interior Designer at HDR, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading interior design projects and developing functional requirements and project design complexities.
  • Applying substantial knowledge of interior design and planning principles, building and planning code requirements, specification preparation and organization, construction costs and methods, and contract preparation and negotiation.
  • Designing interior details, materials, color selections, furniture and furnishings selections, lighting design, space planning, and detailing.
  • Assisting in the investigation of many alternatives and working with clients on projects of any size.
  • Directing the work efforts of others, developing detailed design concepts, producing contract documents, interpreting ordinances and interpreting client needs.
  • Writing specifications covering interior design matters and performing code reviews.
  • Coordinating work with other disciplines and assisting other Interior Designers or Technicians.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and experience working on large project teams.
  • Proficiency with and experience using Microsoft Office to include Project Schedule.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.
