Job Title: Lead Speechwriter and Researcher

Join VenuesWest as a Lead Speechwriter and Researcher and take on a challenging role that requires exceptional communication skills, research expertise, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare high-quality speeches and communications materials for the Governor's program and Office of the Governor.
  • Conduct research and analysis on strategic priority areas, providing insights and recommendations to inform the Governor's decisions.
  • Develop and implement effective communication plans and media strategies to engage with stakeholders and promote the Governor's initiatives.
  • Collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including patronages and community-based organizations, to enhance communication and information flow to the Governor.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance on communications and media matters, ensuring that the Governor's program is well-represented and effective.
Requirements:
  • High level of interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise and consult with people at all levels and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, editing, and ability to adapt to different audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in research and speech writing on a range of topics.
  • Ability to deliver finished material against tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated willingness to readily adapt to changing circumstances and priorities in strict timeframes.
  • High level of time management, prioritization, and organization skills.
  • Experience in a communications and media role, with a strong understanding of public relations and digital communications.
