About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team at ALS. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a crucial part in implementing and managing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to management and staff, consulting, advising, and implementing site safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the implementation of HSE programs, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and ALS's safety culture.
  • Conduct HSE inspections, investigate incidents, and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Organize and deliver HSE training to staff, promoting a positive safety culture within the organization.
  • Manage and develop risk assessments, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
  • Work closely with the National HSE team to ensure consistency across laboratories.
  • Stay up-to-date with safety and industry best practices, offering ideas for continuous improvement.
  • Foster open communication with staff and management on HSE issues.

Requirements

  • Formal qualifications (Cert IV) and previous HSE experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized, level-headed, and able to approach problems with a common-sense attitude.
  • Experience in incident investigations, risk assessments, and auditing.
  • Good working knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation and standards.
  • Passion, enthusiasm, and a goal-driven approach.
