Job Description:

The role of Health and Safety Coordinator presents a fantastic opportunity for individuals seeking stability and wishing to be part of a community-based, socially responsible organization. Reporting to the HR Manager, this position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing programs aimed at reducing safety risks through driving initiatives that ensure targets are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement measures to prevent accidents and injuries by providing proper training, safety equipment, and conducting hazard assessments.
  • Design, implement, and review policies and procedures in line with the company's objectives to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring a safe working environment, and taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide training and awareness programs for employees to equip them with knowledge and skills to adhere to safety protocols.
  • Investigate workplace incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities and equipment.
  • Maintain emergency response plans for various scenarios (e.g., fire, chemical spill, natural disasters) while managing hazardous materials.
Requirements:
  • WHS qualifications or experience in a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Understanding of HSE regulations, safety standards, and audit requirements.
  • Problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
