Project Officer Position

Organisations seeking to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children require dedicated professionals to oversee their child safe standards.

This role will focus on ensuring compliance with state and national legislation, as well as embedding best practice in policies and procedures.

The Role

As a Project Officer - Child Safe Organisations, you will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of strategies to embed child safe practices across all levels of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the completion of reviews and gap analyses to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement action plans to embed child safe standards into policies, procedures and practices.
  • Contribute to the coordination of integration efforts, including training needs identification and staff support.
  • Establish and maintain systems to monitor compliance with child safe standards.
  • Identify and coordinate training needs for staff and volunteers, focusing on building capacity and expertise.
  • Develop and implement plans, timelines and deliverables for RCS compliance.
  • Review and update policies and procedures to align with RCS requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated success in supporting projects in large organisations, with a focus on complex change management.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise information and develop effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and/or Queensland Child Safe Standards best practice, with a clear understanding of legislative requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and facilitate collaborative working.
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively collaborate with other team members.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of organisational development principles, with a focus on embedding sustainable change.
