Job Opportunity: Electrical Tradesperson

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Electrical Tradesperson to join our team. As an Electrical Tradesperson, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing locomotives, rail cars, wagons, plant, and infrastructure to ensure they meet safety and reliability standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment using best practices
  • Adhere to workplace health and safety regulations and technical specifications
  • Keep accurate records and documentation of asset conditions, maintenance activities, and costs
  • Report completed work against the scheduled program
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of work procedures for continuous quality improvement
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Holds a mandatory electrical trade qualification
  • Proficient in computer use
  • Possesses strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in repairing and maintaining locomotives and rolling stock is highly valued
  • Demonstrates robust fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings
  • Knowledgeable in relevant legislation, including the Workplace Health and Safety Act
