Electronics and Communications Systems Specialist

This is a challenging role that involves designing, developing, integrating, maintaining, testing, and evaluating electronic and communication systems. The specialist will be responsible for ensuring the functionality and reliability of these systems, which are critical to the success of our operations.

About the Role

  • Design and Development:

    The Electronics and Communications Systems Specialist will design and develop electronic and communication systems that meet the required specifications and standards.

  • Integration and Testing:

    The specialist will integrate and test these systems to ensure they work as expected and meet the required performance criteria.

  • Maintenance and Support:

    The Electronics and Communications Systems Specialist will provide ongoing maintenance and support for these systems, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Tactical Data Link Support:

    The specialist will provide tactical data link support, including configuration, testing, and maintenance of Link22 and IBS equipment.

  2. Satellite Communications Engineering Services:

    The Electronics and Communications Systems Specialist will provide satellite communications engineering services associated with the support of satellite communications systems.

  3. Electronic Services:

    The specialist will provide electronic services associated with the support of communications networks, including assembly, design, manufacturing, and repair of electronics and communications equipment.

Requirements

  • Technical Skills:

    The Electronics and Communications Systems Specialist should have excellent technical skills in electronics, communications, and computer systems.

  • Communication Skills:

    The specialist should have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with colleagues and stakeholders.

  • Problem-Solving Skills:

    The Electronics and Communications Systems Specialist should have strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

Working Conditions

The Electronics and Communications Systems Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and will be required to travel to Defence establishments and Navy Ships around Australia.
