Drinking Water Safety Officer

We are seeking an experienced professional to oversee the administration of water quality standards for a period of three months.

The position involves liaising with Victorian water agencies to ensure compliance with relevant acts and regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and responding to issues affecting the safety or aesthetics of drinking water
  • Leading risk management initiatives from catchment to tap for drinking water supplies
  • Providing scientific, evidence-based advice on human health risks from water issues relating to microbial and chemical contaminants

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A deep understanding of water quality risk management principles and approaches
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Please note that a tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as engineering, science, toxicology, health risk assessments, and public health is highly desirable.

Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with water quality standards, identifying and mitigating potential risks, and providing expert advice on water safety.
