Strategic Policy Adviser

As a key member of the Department's leadership, you will be responsible for managing and developing planning, environmental, and heritage statutory requirements and functions. This includes implementing and monitoring plans to ensure compliance with legislation.
The role requires strong leadership skills to manage a team and develop initiatives for implementation based on current projects and policies.
You will provide guidance on statutory requirements to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and share this information with staff and clients as required.
- Develop strategic plans and lead project development, implementation, and evaluation
- Manage the statutory Environment & Heritage Planning work program within the Strategic Infrastructure, Risk & Resilience team
- Assist with maintaining Conservation and Heritage registers in accordance with Section 170 of the Heritage Act 1977
Essential Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in heritage, environment, or planning
