We are seeking a highly experienced Construction Project Lead to join our team at Concentis.
Job Title: Construction Project Lead
Location: Brisbane, Australia (with regular travel to remote mine site in the Northern Territory)
Estimated Salary: AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum, depending on experience
About the RoleThis is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with a leading mining company on various capital projects across their brownfield mine. As a Construction Project Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing pre-planning and delivery of these projects, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards.
You will supervise day-to-day construction activities, manage sub-contractors, respond to technical queries, and lead a safe and quality working environment. The projects include heavy civil mining infrastructure, haul road construction, service relocations, tailings, and general bulk earthworks.
The role involves travelling to a remote mine site in the Northern Territory on a 2/1 roster engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversight of project programs to ensure sub-contractors complete works to meet schedule and quality requirements
- Providing daily supervision, direction, and leadership to achieve targets in a safe manner for all portfolio works
- Management of day-to-day interface with contracting partners, focusing on safety and environmental aspects, as well as quality and engineering
- Safety leadership in developing and maintaining a safety culture and ensuring contracting partners comply with safety policies and relevant HSE standards, regulations, and practices
- Leadership in environmental compliance and ensuring construction contractors comply with environmental requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A trades certificate in an associated discipline or equivalent qualification
- Strong construction supervision experience within the mining, energy, or heavy industrial sectors
- A background in civil-related capital projects, preferably in tailings, haul roads, or bulk earthworks
- Demonstrated sub-contractor management experience in remote locations
- Effective and collaborative communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proven safety leadership with a strong understanding of construction and mining industry safety management systems
