About the Role

This is a key position in our Mechanical Maintenance team, responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance of plant and equipment. The successful candidate will have strong skills in safety, quality, and problem-solving, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The role involves:

  • Conducting regular maintenance checks on plant and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Scheduling and organizing tasks efficiently, coordinating with other team members as necessary.
  • Executing emergency work orders promptly and providing troubleshooting expertise to minimize delays.
  • Fitting and assembling fabricated metal parts and subassemblies, ensuring accuracy and proper fit using precision measuring instruments.
  • Setting up and operating machining tools, including cutting, grinding, and drilling, to form metal stock and castings to fine tolerances.
  • Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance, overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment.
  • Cutting, threading, bending, and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
  • Providing daily feedback and reports on work progress, identifying delays and suggesting improvements to eliminate future issues.
  • Supervising apprentices and contributing to a positive team environment, participating in Safety Tool Box Meetings and maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Maintaining flexibility in work hours, including providing shift cover and responding to after-hours breakdowns as needed.
