Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Financial Analyst to join our team at UCSF Health, AG. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing financial management support to external partners, helping to provide financial reporting, planning, and analysis to our leadership and joint board.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management Support: Provide financial management support to external partners, including financial reporting, planning, and analysis.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial reports, including monthly financial statements, annual operating budgets, and quarterly payments to partners.
  • Contract Management: Collaborate with accounting to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial statements, and support analysis of contract terms and budget.
  • Revenue Cycle and Contracting Support: Support revenue cycle, contracting, and physician payment teams to estimate and monitor performance per contract terms, budget, and organization expectations.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Provide financial analysis and reporting to support leadership decision-making, including preparation of partnership profit and loss statements and reconciliation of draft payments with actual liability.
  • Physician Compensation and Benefits: Calculate physician compensation and periodic bonuses, and create and maintain accurate physician compensation financial calculations.
  • Financial Systems and Tools: Lead implementation of new financial systems and tools, and maintain and improve scalable monthly reporting for internal business partners.
  • Capital and Operating Budgets: Develop and deliver complex financial and statistical information in the development of multi-year capital and operating budgets.
  • Financial Problem-Solving: Collaborate with key personnel across departments to explain variances and identify and resolve financial or procedural problems.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related area or four years of equivalent experience/training.
  • Experience: Four or more years of successful increasingly demanding hands-on experience in a mid-sized finance department(s) designing and delivering timely products and reports, and two of the four years working in a healthcare environment.
  • Skills: In-depth understanding of decision support systems, business statistics, quantitative methods, relational databases, business development scorecards, data modeling, and performance and profitability analysis.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Advanced organizational and project management skills, ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in utilizing financial reporting, analytical, and business intelligence tools, SQL to write complex queries to access disparate data from Omni view/UCALL Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
