Tree Care Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tree Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of trees in various environments.

You will work closely with our team to prune, thin, and remove deadwood from tree canopies at various heights, install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems, and maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment like chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, etc.

This is a unique opportunity to combine your passion for horticulture and arboriculture with your technical skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prune, thin, and remove deadwood from tree canopies at various heights.
  • Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
  • Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment like chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, etc.
  • Assist trimmers and foreperson in job site setup, debris removal, and cleanup.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures by industry standards.

Requirements

  • Understand and implement safe tree climbing processes at all heights.
  • Have at least 1 year of climbing experience.
  • Be certified as an Arborist or willing to pursue certification.
  • Show strong skills in tree, knot, and shrub identification.
  • Be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Hold a valid provincial driver's license and preferential consideration for Airbrake endorsement.
  • Prior background in Forestry, Horticulture, or Landscaping is beneficial.
