About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate to join our Corporate M&A (Energy & Resources) practice in Melbourne. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for advising clients on complex cross-border transactions and providing strategic guidance on energy and resources sector matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting and reviewing legal and technical documentation
  • Conducting legal and technical research
  • Analysing commercial and legal information
  • Working directly with clients and managing relationships
  • Involvement in due diligence – analysis of agreements and their subsequent description
  • Drafting legal memoranda on broad range of topics arising under commercial law and corporate law precedents
  • Manage more junior associates and graduates on transactions
Requirements
  • Admission in Australia, England & Wales or other Common Law jurisdiction qualification
  • PQE 5-7 years
  • Broad energy and resources sector experience across M&A and operational matters
  • Good understanding of the key risks and issues involved in large transactions.
  • Experience on advising on numerous commercial contracts
  • Strong time management skills, ability to stay calm under pressure when working across multiple projects
  • Client service focus and commercial awareness
  • Team player
