About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HV Electrical Power System Study Engineer to join our team at Oil And Gas Job Search Ltd. As a key member of our Energy Networks team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of energy and Net Zero.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth simulations and analytical studies for transmission and distribution, planning, load and generation interconnection, and integration of renewables.
  • Prepare simulation study models and carry out power system studies, including grid compliance studies for Wind, Solar, BESS, and Hybrid projects.
  • Perform steady-state and dynamic power flow analysis, fault ride-through studies, short circuit calculation, power quality analysis, and electro magnetic transient analysis (EMTP).
  • Dynamic simulation of networks involving HVDC, FACTS, and inverter-based generation.
  • Carry out protection calculations, including overcurrent and earth fault protection coordination for the transmission and distribution network, and unit protection calculation for Transformer, motor, busbar, generator, etc.
  • Lead and carry out consulting, research, and development study projects.
  • Analyze study results and recommend solutions as per requirements and discuss/clarify with clients.
  • Prepare study reports and other technical documentation.
  • Respond to request for proposals (RFP) by preparing proposals and estimation of man-hours.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide training on subject of expertise.
  • Present study results to clients and deliver training courses on subject of expertise.
Requirements
  • Masters/Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with relevant industrial experience.
  • Knowledge of Grid Codes and Power Electronic Converters.
  • Expertise in system study software such as PSCAD, DIg SILENT, etc.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of PSSE, MATLAB/Simulink, and any other system study software, competency in Python coding, and experience of working on Traction simulation studies.
