Job Title: Cyber Security Specialist

Job Description:

The APS6 Cyber Security Specialist role involves leading a team in strategic planning, program and project management, and policy development.

  • Assessing the cyber security position of external stakeholders to provide advice on mitigating risks.
  • Providing advice and completing work to ensure clients meet legal and regulatory requirements for Client Information Technology security.
  • Consulting, writing, and overseeing the creation of policies and procedures.
  • Providing advice and guidance on cyber trends, threats, applicable security controls, and standards.
  • Overseeing, providing peer review, and completing risk assessments.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience with Australian Government governance concepts, focusing on ICT, policy/standards development, documentation of frameworks, and assisting in reporting to Senior Executives.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor and provide expertise within a team environment and engage with internal/external stakeholders confidently.

Key Responsibilities:

Mentor and lead teams to achieve business objectives.

Develop and implement policies and procedures to manage risk.

Provide expert advice on cyber security trends and threats.

Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify areas of improvement.
