About the Role

The Work Health and Safety Specialist plays a pivotal role in promoting and ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. You'll provide high-quality consultancy advice, supporting injury prevention programs, manage Workers' Compensation claims, and contribute to the overall safety culture within the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing expert WHS advice and coaching the workforce to improve safety culture
  • Promoting and ensuring a safe work environment within legislative requirements
  • Communicating and consulting on health and safety issues, providing timely advice
  • Assisting with incident reporting, data entry, and ergonomic assessments
  • Supporting the WHS team in meeting reporting, inspection, and audit compliance requirements
  • Conducting incident investigations, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective actions
  • Mentoring and supporting WHS and Wellbeing team members
  • Undertaking WHS projects and contributing to innovation and continuous improvement
