Business Logistics Coordinator

This is a high-priority opportunity to secure a pivotal managerial position within an established product distribution organisation poised for future growth.
The organisation's core ethos is to provide timely and efficient delivery of bulk gas products to its customer base while maintaining exceptional customer service and support. As a result, you will drive operational excellence and best practice across the carrier and transport contract network, foster high standards, display excellent organisational skills and be a key support figure within the business.
You will play a critical role in the organisation's logistics network, responsible for championing transport safety, managing contracts, leading long-range transport planning, maintaining day-to-day customer delivery services and more.
Responsibilities:
- Champion transport safety across the organisation.
- Contract management and negotiation.
- Lead long-range transport planning to understand and proactively manage the impact of major changes, peak periods and business continuity.
- Maintain excellent day-to-day customer delivery services across the network.
- Work with key stakeholders to provide transparency of delivery service performance and evolve delivery service in line with sales and marketing strategies.
- Lead, motivate and inspire a team of circa 100 fleet and transport contract and employee personnel.
- Develop a positive working culture with all stakeholders that embraces equality and diversity, fosters professionalism, continuous improvement, idea generation, innovation and collaboration.
- Utilize data-driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, and identify inefficiencies.
- Troubleshoots and resolves escalated operational issues.
- Ensure all operations adhere to industry safety protocols.
Requirements:
- A manager with at least 10 years' experience within the logistics industry.
- Well-organised and able to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.
- Demonstrated capacity to achieve organisational objectives through a proven track record of delivering results both strategically and operationally.
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce/Supply Chain/Logistics are advantageous.
- Knowledge of the industry and products and dangerous goods transport is desirable.
- Significant commercial experience and business acumen gained in logistics environments.
- Setting performance targets at the team and individual level for all logistics related functions.
- Process driven, analytical and methodical.
