The Role

We are seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to support the operation of the Caterpillar Early Learner battery truck project at our Jimblebar Mine. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the readiness and operation of the Caterpillar battery-electric haul truck project engineering, construction, and operation
  • Proactively identifying safe work practices and events/hazards procedures and operating standards to contribute to a safe working environment
  • Following risk management processes, supporting risk assessments, HAZID, and material risk management tools to keep our people safe
  • Collaborating with project and cross-functional teams to resolve deep technical issues and reach consensus with subject matter experts in our governance and technical stewardship teams
  • Supporting investigations of problems and using planned and structured approaches
About You

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with:

  • Prioritizing team health and safety
  • An Electrical Engineering Degree, preferably CPEng
  • 5 years or more of Project and/or Operations experience in a mining operation
  • Experience with fixed and heavy mobile equipment (electrically propelled earth-moving machinery)
  • Knowledge of standards and regulations associated with electrical design, installation, and testing
