Job Title: Poultry Farm Worker

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced poultry farm worker to work across multiple farm sites in South Australia.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Culling runts and removing mortalities from sheds, reporting daily mortalities to the farm manager.
  • Checking drinker lines and feeder pans for fullness and preventing spillage.
  • Performing regular checks and tasks indicated on the shed checklist before leaving each shed.
  • Sweeping out control rooms and refreshing footbaths as required.
  • Setting up sheds for placement and assisting with day-old chicken placements as instructed by the farm manager.
  • Assisting with catching operations as instructed by the farm manager.
  • Carrying out maintenance tasks as instructed by the farm manager.
  • Conducting general housekeeping and ground maintenance as instructed by the farm manager.
  • Executing the rodent baiting program as instructed by the farm manager.
  • Taking silo readings as instructed by the farm manager.
  • Operating machinery and farm equipment such as tractors, forklifts, ride-on mowers, and rotary hoes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • AQF Cert III in Agriculture or higher equivalent qualification.
  • At least 1 year of recent relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

Prioritizing candidates with:

  • Bachelor Degree in Agriculture or related field.
  • 3 years of recent and relevant work experience.
