About the Role

The Australian Red Cross is seeking a highly skilled Senior Officer to manage the delivery of a new and innovative community climate adaptation and disaster resilience pilot project. As a key member of the Humanitech team, you will work closely with the Victorian Emergency Services, Resilience, and Humanitech teams to co-design and implement a technology-enabled approach to enhance disaster resilience within the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive project plan to deliver the pilot project, including stakeholder engagement, community outreach, and project management.
  • Collaborate with the Humanitech team to design and deliver evidence-based resources, training, and tools to enhance disaster resilience within the community.
  • Apply a community development approach to build disaster resilience capacity and capability within the community.
  • Work closely with the Victorian Emergency Services and Resilience teams to ensure alignment with state and national disaster resilience strategies.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in disaster resilience, emergency management, or community development, with a proven track record of leading strategic projects/pilots.
  • Experience in applying technology innovation and co-design to humanitarian programs, services, and systems.
  • Sound technical knowledge and expertise in emergency services and resilience-based projects.
  • High level of knowledge and skills in emergency services and disaster resilience and community development principles.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver training, workshops, and resources.
  • Creativity and innovation, with the ability to devise creative approaches to solving complex problems.
