Clinical Expert in Emergency Mental Health

Experienced mental health nurses or clinical nurse consultants seeking a challenging and dynamic work environment may be interested in this role.

The position requires a strong understanding of comprehensive mental health assessment, risk assessment, admission and discharge planning, problem-solving, and common medical and drug & alcohol related conditions that often co-occur with mental health needs.

  • Managing acute mental health symptoms in emergency situations.
  • Assessing and managing individuals experiencing co-morbid physical and mental health difficulties.
  • Providing mental health assessments in crisis situations requiring timely intervention.

This autonomous role involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the ED, requiring effective time management, communication skills, and a strong understanding of mental health principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to inform patient care.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide seamless patient care.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse or Clinical Nurse Consultant qualifications.
  • Proven experience in emergency mental health settings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
