About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Apprentice Maintenance Fitter to join our team at Capral. As an Apprentice Maintenance Fitter, you will work under supervision in a busy manufacturing plant, assisting with preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance to ensure plant and machinery is operating in a safe, sustainable, and productive state.

Under supervision, you will have the opportunity to develop electrical skills and learn how to maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment involved in the extrusion manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with maintenance tasks, including preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance
  • Develop electrical skills and learn how to maintain mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Work under supervision in a busy manufacturing plant
  • Collaborate with experienced team members to ensure plant and machinery is operating safely and efficiently
Requirements
  • Completed or in the process of completing Year 12
  • Sound academic achievement with a good attendance record
  • Intermediate to advanced mathematics skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to all safety requirements
  • Mechanically minded with an understanding of basic hand tools and their applications
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • A reliable team player who is motivated and eager to learn
