About the Role:
The Youth Worker, Residential Care position is a critical role in our organization, requiring a skilled and compassionate individual to provide care and support to children and young people in out-of-home care and at-risk families. As a Youth Worker, you will be responsible for enhancing opportunities for young people to participate in age-appropriate activities, develop positive self-regard, and contribute to placement stability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide care and support to children and young people in out-of-home care and at-risk families
- Develop and implement trauma-informed interventions to address complex issues
- Collaborate with the Coordinator and Service Manager to ensure cohesive team efforts
- Maintain daily case notes, handle administrative tasks, and prepare incident reports
- Work across a variety of shifts, including sleepovers, weekends, and awake shifts
Requirements:
- Certificate IV or higher qualification in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Youth Services, Community Services, or a related field
- Current Blue Card
- Current Licensed Care Service (LCS)
- Completion of Hope and Healing Framework training
- Current Queensland Drivers Licence
- Ability to provide two recent referees of supervisors
