As a Submarine Training Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive training programs to the next generation of Navy submariners.

This civilian role based in Garden Island WA involves designing and delivering classroom and practical scenario simulator courses using specialist equipment. You will assess students' performance, contribute to training development, and introduce new capabilities onto the submarine.

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced individuals with knowledge of submarine Control Room routines to share their expertise and utilize the latest learning technologies to meet our students' and clients' requirements for high-quality training.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering training sessions in classroom, platform training simulator, and virtual environments.
  • Conducting competency assessments of students.
  • Collaborating with the training development team to design and implement new training materials.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in submarine operations and contributing to the enhancement of training programs.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of submarine Control Room routines and experience operating Manoeuvring Control Console (MCC) or Diving Safety Consoles (DSC).
  • Proven presentation and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to different learning styles.
  • Collins Class Submariner Qualification and willingness to undertake Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • A strong understanding of security and data handling requirements.
