Furrow: Producer Field Trials and Demonstration Initiative

Industry Challenge:

Furrow is pioneering a new wave of innovative solutions to manage water in-farm, from automated irrigation systems to pump efficiency reporting. Our goal is to develop robust and reliable building blocks for sophisticated farm-wide automation.

We are seeking expressions of interest from producers in Victoria and Southern NSW to participate in on-farm deployments and demonstrations of remote water infrastructure management and automation technology. This initiative will explore the use of various modes of user interaction with our system, focusing on automation over simple monitoring, reducing site visits, decreasing equipment downtime, and user alerting only upon exception or fault.

The selected properties will need to have relatively modern infrastructure, an active turnover as far as water movement is concerned, cellular coverage at points of interest, and producers/managers that would be willing to make use of the technology and potentially contribute to its development.

Demonstration Scope:

Our demonstrations will cover two broad categories: stock water management and irrigation management. The latter may include flow monitoring, autonomous channel fill, automation of run-off water collection, piped and overhead irrigation systems, pump efficiency, and maintenance planning tools. Stock water deployments may include tank level monitoring and fill automation, trough sensing, supply automation, and more.
