We are seeking a highly experienced Coastal Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering projects that involve the design, evaluation and reporting on ports, harbours, coastal works and marine structures.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled engineer to work with us on large-scale maritime facilities across various industries, including defence, local government, state government, ports, and sustainability (hydrogen terminals). You will apply your existing experience to lead the technical delivery of new and interesting projects, working closely with other disciplines across our organisation and partners.

Your project portfolio may include conceptual designs through to construction phase support. While this is primarily a technical role, you will have opportunities for leadership and business development, including project management, design management, proposal preparation, and client positioning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, evaluate and report on ports, harbours, coastal works and marine structures.
  • Apply your skills in coastal modelling software, such as DELFT-3D, SWAN, MIKE.
  • Work with local governments, port clients and/or the Defence sector.
  • Familiarity with Australian design codes and guidelines.
  • Drive innovation within the team, provide supervision, guidance and mentoring to less experienced colleagues.
  • Project manage and/or design manage large maritime projects; or teams within larger multidisciplinary projects.
  • Engage with clients, pursue and position for opportunities and leverage existing connections to win work.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Tertiary degree qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (or ability to get chartership within agreed timeframe).
  • Eligibility for Australian Government security clearance.
  • More than 15 years experience in the design, evaluation and reporting on ports, harbours, coastal works and marine structures.
