About Our School

Our school is a protestant non-denominational, Christian education organization that aims to develop each student spiritually, academically, socially and physically. We prioritize excellence in education so that our students are well-known, well-loved, and well-taught by dedicated trained Christian staff.

Our school has 16 locations across five states and is the largest non-government Distance Education provider in Australia. We offer a co-educational environment with over 1300 students on-campus and over 700 students via our Distance Education program.

Our Pedagogical Approach

We prioritize three key pedagogies: Explicit Direct Instruction, Specific Targeted Feedback, and Thinking Through Writing. These approaches are informed by Cognitive Load Theory and influenced by renowned educators Hollingsworth and Ybarra, Lemov, Hochman and Wexler, and Michaela Community School in London.

Staff Support

Our staff are supported by an in-house coaching team and an open professional learning culture where staff learn from each other through classroom visits and feedback. We also invest in creating a technology-infused educational ecosystem.

The Role

We are seeking a Distance Education Secondary English Teacher (Full-Time | Maternity Leave Cover) to provide support within the Distance Education Team:

  • Develop effective learning programs for allocated classes consistent with Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and relevant syllabi, curriculum policies, work programs and educational trends.
  • Blend asynchronous and synchronous sessions to engage students.
  • Contribute to school objectives and planning and maintain an orderly learning environment.
  • Maintain student records and report performance to stakeholders.
  • Support students through interaction and behaviour management practices.
  • Assess students for developmental purposes.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have an active Christian faith, suitable qualification and NESA accreditation or eligibility. You should demonstrate excellent teaching skills and capacity to improve student outcomes.
