About the Role

This leadership opportunity involves providing daily care for animals at a regional facility. You will coordinate adoption programs, perform animal health checks, and ensure stress-free handling environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor animal well-being, conduct enrichment activities, and maintain accurate records.
  • Implement behaviour assessments and coordination of programs to promote animal welfare.
  • Transport animals to vet appointments safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with Inspectors in the field and coordinate transfers to other facilities.
  • Support administrative tasks related to animal intake and adoption processes.
  • Engage with foster carers and offsite adoption centres to foster positive relationships.
  • Administer preventative treatments such as vaccinations, ensuring animal health and safety.
  • Contribute to community programs, partner rescue networks, and education initiatives.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in animal handling and care.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail and good time management.
  • Physical ability to lift and handle animals (minimum 10kg).
  • A genuine interest in animal welfare.
