Support Worker Job Description

This role involves providing psychosocial support to individuals living with mental illness across the Perth metropolitan area.

The Support Worker will work in a team environment, liaising with mental health professionals, housing providers, and other services to support clients' recovery journeys.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing capacity building support to clients, determined by their individual recovery goals.
  • Working in a trauma-informed way, focusing on supporting clients to reconnect with their community and improve their mental health and wellbeing.
  • Liaising with Support Coordinators and other relevant services to ensure comprehensive support for clients.

Required qualifications and skills include:

  • Completion of or progress towards a relevant qualification (Certificate II/III).
  • Relevant work experience or lived experience.
  • Ability to engage with individuals with diverse needs and build professional relationships.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and client reporting systems.
