About this role
The Advanced Clinical Coder is a key member of the health information management team, responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely collection of morbidity data to meet reporting requirements. The position involves liaising with clinicians to improve data quality and activity based funding outcomes, under the direction of the Clinical Coding and Data Quality Manager. This experienced professional will guide and mentor clinical coders, participate in quality activities, and demonstrate high level clinical coding skills and knowledge across various specialties.

About you
- Provide education to clinicians on best practices for clinical documentation and coding.
- Conduct direct coder-clinician liaison activities and liaise with hospital staff to improve data quality and ABF outcomes.
- Have a solid understanding of Activity Based Funding and its relationship with DRGs, patient demographics, and related processes.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, including coding audits, to ensure accurate and reliable data.
- Possess high level interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels.
