Lead Engineer Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Mechanical Lead. As part of our team, you will be responsible for liaison with stakeholders, conducting engineering assessments, and reviewing Engineering Change Proposals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Act as the technical interface between customers, management, and the implementation team to conduct systems analysis and derive function, performance, and interface requirements.
  • Engage in System Design activities, including trade studies, to ensure that mechanical design artefacts are compatible with the baselined product and deliver system design that meets performance requirements.
  • Perform technical risk analysis to support development and review of hazard logs, safety case arguments, and risk mitigation actions.
  • Ensure assigned mechanical components are developed and implemented according to appropriate standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to secure our reputation as a trusted partner in delivering systems integration and mission support solutions.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in mechanical, mechatronics, or structural engineering with professional development to attain recognition as CPEng with Engineers Australia in a relevant stream.
  • Experience in an engineering discipline, including Requirements Definition, Management, Analysis, Design, and Verification and Validation.
  • Representing engineering professional services to internal and external customers.
  • Minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience with a university degree.
  • Experience with 3D CAD parametric modelling software.
  • Mechanical component/sub-system selection and procurement; practical knowledge of projects, programs, or systems relevant to our business.
  • Mechanical design and design changes; product configuration control.
  • Military Standard electrical component/subsystem selection and procurement.
  • Familiarity with AS1100 drawing standard.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
