Railway Systems Engineering Lead

We're seeking a highly experienced Railway Systems Engineering Lead to contribute to the development of Cross River Rail station related systems. As a key member of our engineering and rail safety business group, you will provide technical oversight and resolve delivery risk associated with the project.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a mega-city project where safety, efficiency, and reliability are not just ideals – they're realities forged by your hands and minds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply systems engineering governance frameworks and support the project in delivering outcomes.
  • Manage the identification and undertaking of all CRR systems to ensure a safe, reliable, efficient, and sustainable network.
  • Develop and manage the system to satisfy the Queensland Rail change management and review Safety and Environment Management System (SEMS), standards, specification, and procedures where required.
  • Develop key safety strategies and associated plans targeted at improved project delivery outcomes.
  • Review new and existing system designs and make recommendations for improving or altering the systems.
  • Undertake systems engineering activities through the project lifecycle – delivering all necessary content and artefacts including customer needs and required functionality, system specifications, concept of operations, and assurance.
  • Implement technical management activities including technical planning, technical risk management, and system configuration management.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in leadership of complex major infrastructure projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of rail transport operations within major projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of metro-style railway systems, including Station Systems, and telecommunications infrastructure systems, their interfaces, technical aspects, and technical standards.
  • Experience in Cybersecurity would be an added advantage.
  • Ability to build and maintain crucial stakeholder relationships within large-scale project environments.
  • Substantial knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance to regulation and risk mitigation for construction, maintenance, and operation of railway infrastructure.
