Job Overview:

As a Site Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of operations across governance, personnel and physical security. This includes providing strategic oversight to assist in continuous delivery of business operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the first point of contact for security advice and incident response.
  • Develop and maintain security policies & plans.
  • Conduct regular threat and risk assessments to assess suitability of security posture.
  • Conduct regular security audits to ensure business activities remain within required accreditation or regulatory standards.
  • Where required, engage with external accreditation and regulatory bodies on operational security activities.
  • Investigate and respond to incidents in critical circumstances.
  • Provide specific details of key security content pertaining to their area where required.
  • Conduct effective operational security activities to ensure optimum security performance.
  • Establish procedures to achieve security outcomes consistent with Australian Government policies and legal requirements.
  • Foster a positive security culture where personnel understand their responsibilities to manage security risk.
  • Ensure information and security awareness training programs are in place for personnel.
  • Establish security performance measures to ensure required protections are achieved.
  • Disseminate and manage intelligence and threat information to stakeholders.
  • Manage Australian Defence Industry Security Program requirements.
  • Directly manage access control, security keys and the security of information.
  • Travel to sites to review security controls, conduct staff training and provide security related presentations.
About You:
  • Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
  • Knowledge of incident management, investigations and crises management principles.
  • Knowledge of security risk management techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong experience in Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
  • Demonstrate experience in Defence security or security processes and procedures.
  • Ability to negotiate with and influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-management skills and ability to work under own initiative to deliver outputs.
